Australian Ports in Chaos

An Australian newspaper reports that a new customs computer system for port security is causing chaos in Sydney.
Sydney's Port Botany, the nation's second-largest port, is operating at full capacity but has six ships waiting to unload as brokers and freight forwarders attempt to clear 20,000 containers through the Integrated Cargo System.
The $250 million Integrated Cargo System computer software system was introduced earlier this month.
New South Wales Ports Minister Eric Roozendaal said that the computer software was generating delays that cost businesses $2 million a day.
