Committee to Consider Coast Guard Authorization Bill

The U.S. Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, chaired by U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.), will mark up legislation this week that authorizes United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) funding levels for two years, and includes provisions to improve Coast Guard mission effectiveness, help modernize the service’s aging vessels and other assets, and reform U.S. maritime transportation laws.  
The committee is scheduled to mark up the following items on Thursday, April 30:
