BMT ARGOSS Awarded OHSAS 18001

July 31, 2014

BMT ARGOSS, an operating company of BMT Group Ltd. has been awarded the universally recognized standard for occupational health and safety, BS OHSAS 18001.

BMT ARGOSS, supported by BMT’s Manager, Operational Risk - Jayne Matthews, implemented a fully integrated management system in offices located in the U.K. and the Netherlands to complement the system established in the Kazakhstan office. This will allow the organisation to effectively identify, control and reduce the risks associated with health and safety in the workplace.  Securing the accreditation is a key milestone for the company, and has resulted in a system which will help to achieve best practice in its management.

Shane Amaratunga, Managing Director at BMT ARGOSS commented, “As a company, operating principally in the oil and gas market, we are all too aware of the risks associated with its often harsh environments.  It is vital that all of our staff are kept safe, but particularly those who are working in locations offshore.  This certification provides us with the confidence that we have effective frameworks in place, enabling us to improve our awareness of health and wellbeing in the working environment whether that is onshore or offshore.”
