NASSCO Awarded Third T-AKE Ship

National Steel and Shipbuilding Co., San Diego is being awarded
a $289,891,274 fixed-price-incentive modification to exercise an
option under previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-2300), for
design and construction of the third ship of the Dry Cargo and
Ammunition Ship (T-AKE) Class. Work will be performed in San
Diego and is to be completed by May 2006. Contract funds will
not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea
Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting
activity.
