Houston Port eyes Indian Business

According to reports, addressing a Confederation of Indian Industry interaction, Jim Fonteno, Commissioner, Port of Houston Authority said that seaborne trade with India has increased by nearly 190 percent in the last decade. India ranks as the 24th largest trade partner with the Port of Houston with over $916m in trade, and added that the Houston Port has a lot of experience in security, management, etc. A delegation from Houston is currently on its first international trade development mission to India from June 12 to 17.

India was ranked as the 18th largest export country from the Houston/Galveston Custom District with over 822 million dollars in exports. Exports have increased by more than 240 per cent in the past five years. Source: New Kerala
