Coast Guard Captain Retires After 30 Years of Service

Capt. Kevin L. Marshall is presented with the Legion of Merit by Rear Adm. Robert F. Duncan during Marshall's retirement ceremony held at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans on March 31. Marshall has served as the Eighth Coast Guard District chief of staff since November 2004. His area of responsibility included all or parts of 26 states, from St. Marks., Fla., to the U.S./Mexico border at Brownsville, Texas, and from the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes. Scheduled to replace Marshall as Eighth Coast Guard District chief of staff is Capt. Ronald W. Branch.
