Thrustmaster Receives ISO 9001 Certification from ABS

May 29, 2002

Thrustmaster of Texas, Inc., has received ISO 9001 Certification from ABS. The certification was awarded after a series of rigorous quality-control audits, and verification that Thrustmaster is compliant with all phases of the ISO 9001 Quality Control processes and procedures. “We have been working towards ISO certification for well over a year,” said Gene Little, Thrustmaster quality manager. “We revised many of our existing policies and procedures, and refined others to make sure we were above and beyond what ABS was looking for. We have always produced quality products, but this certification will help open new doors for us when it comes to doing business with companies that require ISO certification.” The certification is just part of an overall program to enhance the overall operations of Thrustmaster. That program began in 2001 with the addition of Owen Traylor as the general manager, and the subsequent hiring immediately thereafter of Little, a veteran of over 30 years handling quality procedures and policies for Dresser Industries. Also included in the program is an enhanced marketing effort, introduction of new, higher horsepower products, the addition of mechanical as well as hydraulic thrusters to the product mix, and an expansion of the manufacturing facilities.
