The oil tanker “Energena’ managed by Gulf Stolt Ship Management and currently undergoing maintenance at Drydocks World, will become the first commercial vessel to sail under the UAE flag
, reports 'Trade Arabia'.

The Tasneef (Emirates Authority for Classification) classification document recorded that the tankship was registered in the UAE making it the first commercial vessel to be so registered. Tasneef was established in 2012 as the first classification society in United Arab Emirates, the GCC region and Arab world, according to 'Trade Arabia'.

Drydocks World and Tasneef had earlier signed a MoU for a landmark partnership which gives Tasneef access to classification and other statutory activities on repair, new-build and conversion projects at the yard.
