MTU to Showcase Engines at Commercial Marine Expo

The Tognum brand MTU will be showcasing the Series 2000 marine engine for new workboat installations at the Commercial Marine Expo, June 22-23, 2011 in booth #201.  The Series 2000 is available in both 12V and 16V configurations, with power output that ranges from 805 bhp to 1,070 bhp (600 - 800 kW) at 1,800 RPM.

In addition to the Series 2000, MTU will also be displaying the venerable Series 60 engine. With more than 650,000 units in operation around the globe, the MTU Series 60 engines have demonstrated both high reliability and durability.  Power output ranges from 350 bhp to 825 bhp (261 kW to 615 kW) at 1,800 to 2,300 RPM.  The 6-cylinder inline MTU Series 60 features low fuel consumption, compact design, and ease of maintenance, making it one of the most economical engines in its class.

Also on display will be a variety of parts for the legacy Detroit Diesel 2-Cycle marine engines, including oil, filters and accessories.  Over 3.5 million Detroit Diesel 2-Cycle engines have been built since 1940 and nearly 300,000 of them are still in operation around the world.  MTU has made a long-term commitment to maintaining a strong Detroit Diesel 2-Cycle engine support program and continues to offer service at more than 1,100 outlets worldwide.
