RFA Fort Rosalie Refit Completed

The refit of RFA Fort Rosalie has been completed at A&P Tyne. The refit, which began in June involved major repairs including work on the ship's rudder, extensive hull blasting and coating, various survey work including cranes and lifting equipment, conversion of cargo hold bulk storage area, overhaul of main engines and generators, refurbishment of accommodation areas, cargo lift surveys and repairs, replenishment at sea (RAS) equipment, and electrical equipment repairs.

Other work carried out included upgrades to communications, engine room crane, cargo plant, and domestic power supplies. Fred Newman, Managing Director of A&P Tyne, stated “We were delighted at completion of this major refit to be complimented by the W.S.A. Acceptance Team on the quality of work performed. This is yet another endorsement of the exceptional skills of the Tyneside tradesmen”.
