Master Marine Completes Jack-Up L205

August 5, 2010

The project teams of Nymo Yards and Master Marine recently presented Jack-Up L205. The vessel arrived Eydehavn in Norway on August 2 for hook up and final commissioning before mobilizing for Ekofisk Field and the client ConocoPhillips.

The vessel will be the North Sea’s largest jack up accommodation unit with 447 single cabins. It has been customized and outfitted to meet ConocoPhillips and the authorities’ requirements for a state-of-the-art accommodation unit on Ekofisk field.

This delivery marks an important milestone in the history of Master Marine. It is the first of two innovative jack-up construction vessels that the company ordered in 2007.

The L205 has been transported to Norway by Dockwise Shipping B.V.’s heavy lift vessel Treasure.

Master Marine’s newbuild represents a positive turn in a volatile period for the Norwegian offshore supplier industry. The project has secured business for a number of subcontractors and secured jobs in the industry.
