WISTA Conference Headlines Critical Concerns

WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association) will be hosting the WISTA Annual Conference in .  With a conference theme of “Raising the Profile- Reducing the Footprint”, the 2008 Conference will host over 200 international and national delegates with sessions covering the most pressing issues faced by the industry today.

Featured speakers include a welcome to conference participants by Admiral Vivien Crea, Vice Commandant of the United States Coast Guard, Katharine Newman of ConocoPhillips speaking on Criminal Enforcement of Environmental Laws, United States Coast Guard Judge Advocate General Rear Admiral William Baumgartner addressing recent regulatory and legislative developments, and AMA Capital Partners Managing Director, Peter Shaerf speaking to industry’s perspective on foreign investment.

Panels on seafarer’s issues, port congestion, the profile of the industry and capital for shipping (chaired by Kathy Haines, Principal of Holbridge Capital Advisors and WISTA USA Treasurer) will complement the program with speakers including Kimberly S. Patterson, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Hornbeck Offshore Services,  Carla Limcaoco, Vice Chairman and Executive Managing Director of Philippine Transmarine Carriers joining Lois Zabrocky, Senior Vice President for Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), Randee Day, Managing Director of Seabury Transportation Holdings, and Deborah Butler, International Credit Manager for Caterpillar Financial Services.
