Jetty Construction near Lorong Halus Jetty, Singapore

From 28 November 2014 to 28 May 2015, work will be carried out for the construction of a jetty near Lorong Halus Jetty.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.141 of 2014 dated 25 November 2014, the work will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holiday - within a working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01˚ 23.835'N / 103˚ 56.026'E

2) 01˚ 23.903'N / 103˚ 56.099'E

3) 01˚ 23.831'N / 103˚ 56.160'E

4) 01˚ 23.765'N / 103˚ 56.078'E

Construction of the jetty will be carried out by piling barge, crane barges and work barges with the support of tug boats. Test piles will be installed by using testing method. This is followed by the permanent marine pile which will be installed by the piling barge or crane barges. Reinforcement work will be followed by pile cutting and pile head treatment before the head stock. Once the reinforcement concrete work is completed, the steel walkway will be installed to connect each of the jetty structure.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);

and

e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
