Former Flender Employees Start Consultancy

January 2, 2003

Two former employees of Flender Werft, the Naval Architects Stefan Schwehm and Daniel Winters, have opened the new year with a new engineering company ORBIS MARINE CONSULT, in Lübeck, Germany. "Our experience, for example in the newbuilding of the SUPERFAST Ro-Pax Ferries, has shown us that the requirement from ship-owners and shipyards for competent Project Management is steadily increasing," explains ORBIS co-founder Stefan Schwehm. "We offer a broad palette of services - and at very low costs to the customer, since we operate as external consultants." ORBIS MARINE CONSULT's portfolio ranges from technical consulting for yards and owners, concept and structural design and technical translation into German and English, right up to the complete Project and Contract Management for ship newbuildings. The second partner in ORBIS, the British-born Naval Architect Daniel Winters, was pleased to report, "the soundness of our business concept has been validated by our success in already securing our first contracts for 2003."
