LaBarge Awarded $1.3M Contract From Lockheed Martin
April 22, 2003
LaBarge, Inc. has been awarded a $1.3 million contract from Lockheed Martin, Syracuse, N.Y., to make Integrated Electronics Mast (IEM) cable assemblies and interconnect devices for the U.S. Navy's next-generation attack submarine, the Virginia class.
LaBarge will produce and test a variety of IEM cable assemblies that transmit tactical surveillance and reconnaissance data. The cables are part of a revolutionary, modular mast that aids in self-protection and intelligence gathering for battle group support by providing detection, identification and direction-finding for radar and communication signals, emanating from ships, aircraft, submarines and other emitters.
Production at LaBarge's Joplin, Mo., facility is expected to run through September 2003.
