Kentec Onboard for Major Vessel Contract
World-class builder and fabricator of aluminium, steel and composite material crafts and vessels NGV Tech of Malaysia has chosen Kentec Syncro AS Marine fire control panels for vessels under fit out and refurbishment at the company's shipyard in Sijangkang Malaysia.
The vessels, a 52m Multiple Utility vessel built to BV classification for the National Iranian Oil Company, a 38m DP2 Oil and Gas field support Catamaran built to ABS classification for SeaWorks Ltd. and two refurbished 38m multi-purpose oil recovery Fifi tug boats built to BV classification for Marine Services Ltd (Saudi Arabia), are being fitted with fire safety systems using Kentec Syncro ASM single loop, analogue addressable, fire control panels, Syncro VIEW repeater panels and Syncro Indent fire control panels, all supported by Hochiki open protocol fire data communications and Hochiki devices.
Marine fire safety systems require very specialist solutions that are often installed in challenging conditions and must meet a unique set of approvals, which is why NGV Tech chose Kentec Syncro AS Marine fire control panels to deliver compliance, known for the 'ease with which they can be networked to provide scalable fire alarm systems, suitable for many classes of vessel.’
The fire and safety equipment has been installed in accordance with IMO and HSC code standards. The Syncro ASM is certified as compliant to the Maritime Equipment Directorate (MED) and approved by ABS, CSS, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyds Register and Korean register.
