DRS Wins Navy Contract

DRS Systems, Inc., Parsippany, N.J., is being awarded a $22,343,848 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed price contract, for the acquisition of various quantities of Repair Station Consoles (RSC) for installation on U.S. Navy Surface Combatant Ships. The resultant contract will also call for the furnishing of incidental technical support services for the required equipment. The required RSC will be utilized in the DDG-M Backfit Program. The RSC's will be installed throughout the ship as part of the Machinery Control System (MCS). The RSC's will communicate over the shipboard Gigabit Ethernet Data Multiplex System (GEDMS) network.  The supplies/services will be ordered during a 60 month ordering period. Work will be performed in Parsippany, N.J., and is expected to be completed by July 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited and three offers received via the FedBizOpps. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (N65540-08-D-0017).
