Vestdavit has won its first contract with the U.S. Coast Guard. After an extensive tender process with many contenders, Vestdavit was chosen to supply nine PLA-2000 davits, the company said. This is a two-ton SWL davit for launching and retrieving small boats up to sea state three.

The davit will be skid mounted for easy installation on board the Coast Guard’s class of Ice Breaking Tugs. The first davit will be delivered in late 2013. Sales Manager Atle Kalve said, “The U.S. Coast Guard have real offshore boat-handling needs which Vestdavit can meet.”
