GL Sees 20-25% Revenue Contribution From Maritime Sector

Germanischer Llyod (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd expects the maritime sector to contribute 20 to 25 percent to its turnover in the region. Germanischer Llyod is a provider of consultancy and certification services to the oil and gas sector, production plants, pipelines and wind energy facilities. Country manager Chandran Thambirajah said the company would not only participate in the local maritime sector but also expand its business to the East Asia region. He also said that the performance of the local maritime sector will depend on the country's economy. Thambirajah said the company was one of the few independent certification companies in the country, specialising in maritime and recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health for industrial statutory inspections. Germanischer Llyod also carries valid licenses from key members of the Malaysia Oil and Gas Industry such as Petronas, Shell and Esso. -- BERNAMA
