MES Delivers Pair of Bulk Carriers

(MES) completed and delivered a 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier M.V. “DESERT CONDOR” (MES Hull No. 1776) at its Tamano Works on September 29, 2011 to New Borough Corp., Marshall Islands. This vessel is a handy-max type bulk carrier of 56,000 dwt with a huge cargo hold capacity over 70,000 m3 and marks the 133rd ship of its series. This 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier series of MES is widely called “Mitsui’s 56” and is highly appreciated in the market. About 170 units of this series have been ordered from MES.
MES also completed and delivered 177,000 dwt type bulk carrier, M.V. “CAPE CELTIC” (MES Hull No. 1732) at its Chiba Works on September 29, 2011 to “K”LINE BULK SHIPPING (UK) LIMITED, United Kingdom. This ship is the 8th ship of the Cape-size Bulk Carrier of Dunkerque-max Type(＊) having a double-side skin to cargo holds construction. It enables effective cargo handling, easy maintenance of cargo holds and structural safety.
