Fortum Tankers Built To Deltamarin Design

Deltamarin Ltd, the Finnish engineering company, is supplying the design for the tanker newbuildings for Fortum, the leading energy company in the Nordic countries, both at Jinling Shipyard in China and at Estaleiros Navais de Viano do Castelo (ENVC) shipyard in Portugal. The project at Jinling is a product/chemical tanker with ice class 1 A Super and with following main dimensions: length (overall) 556 ft. (169.5 m), breadth 78 ft. (23.8 m), deadweight 25,000 tons and speed 16 knots; total cargo tank volume is 28,000-cu.-m. Deltamarin will prepare for the yard the complete basic design, model test coordination as well as 3D coordination models for the detail design. The newbuilding at ENVC is a chemical/product tanker with ice class 1 A Super and with following main dimensions: length (overall) 459 ft. (140 m), breadth 71.2 ft. (21.7 m), deadweight 14,000 tons and speed 16 knots; total cargo capacity is 16,000-cu.-m. For this project Deltamarin will supply the yard with steel classification drawings for the cargo area.
