MECC Detains Two Barges

The Maritime Enforcement Coordination Centre (MECC) detained two tugboats for contravening maritime regulations. MECC Director, Laksamana Pertama Mohd Rashid Harun said, in the first instance, a tug-boat from Riau, Indonesia heading for Batu Pahat was detained for not having proper documents when bringing coconuts into Malaysia. In the second incident, a tug-boat was compounded RM5,000 for carrying stones without proper documents. Source: Bernama
