NNS Wins Sub Development Deal

Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. was awarded on Mar. 31, 2004,
a $17,212,146 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-01-C-2104) to exercise an option for development and design studies, design agent, engineering and technical support, test and evaluation efforts on current and future submarine platforms in support of the program executive office for submarines. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by March 2006. Contract funds in the amount of $30,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
