DeMasi Named Deputy Director Gov’t Services, Gibbs & Cox
Gibbs & Cox, Inc., an independent naval architecture and marine engineering firms, announced the appointment of Frank DeMasi to Deputy Director of its Government Services Group. In this role, DeMasi will carry out strategic initiatives to expand the group’s core expertise to provide life cycle design and engineering support services that meet the evolving needs of U.S. naval and maritime defense customers.

Prior to joining Gibbs & Cox, DeMasi served ten years at SAIC as Vice President and Deputy Operations Manager of the Defense Engineering and Management Solutions operation. During that time, he helped grow the organization from $80M to $298M, by concentrating on providing services to the U.S. Department of Defense, particularly the U.S. Navy. He also led a team of 1,100 design engineers, IT specialists, trainers and defense analysts into successful system engineering and system integration awards from the Naval Sea System Command, Naval Surface Warfare Centers and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
A retired Captain of the U.S. Navy with 29 years of service, DeMasi is a recognized marine propulsion engineer and Combat Systems/C4ISR specialist. He commanded three surface ships, USS NORMANDY (CG60) during Operation Deliberate Force where NORMANDY was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation for a short notice TLAM strike into Bosnia; USS HAWES (FFG53), the first U.S. warship to visit the former soviet bloc countries along the Baltic Sea and USS INFLICT (MSO456) during Operation Ernest Will where he was awarded the Bronze Star with combat “V” for operations in the Persian Gulf.

DeMasi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mansfield State University, a Master of Science degree from Golden Gate University and was a Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Seminar XXI program.
