Singapore Registers Double-Digit Bunker Fuel Sales Growth

 Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore said that Singapore bunker fuel sales rose 5.34% month on month and up 12.33% year on year, to 3.58 million mt in March reports Platts.

The vessel arrivals in Singapore for bunker fuel rose to 3,295 in March, up 9.65% from February and up 0.61% year on year, the data showed.
According to official figures released by the MPA, the March volumes included 2.65 million mt of 380 CST high sulfur fuel oil, 56,100 mt of 180 CST HSFO and 721,400 mt of 500 CST HSFO.
For the low sulfur grades, demand for 380 CST low sulfur fuel oil continued falling in March, dropping to a record low of 100 mt from 200 mt in February, according to MPA data. LSFO sales also included 200 mt of 500 CST.
The HSFO grades have a maximum sulfur content of 3.5%, while the LSFO grades have a maximum sulfur content of 1%, in line with MPA regulations. There were no sales of 180 CST LSFO last month, according to the data.
