Dredging Services Sought

NATCO Limited Partnership, Oak Brook, Ill., is being awarded a
$5,542,813 increment as part of a $5,542,813 firm-fixed-price
contract for acquisition of hopper dredging services to maintain
navigable channels and a test project co-sponsored by the Port
of Kalama to use dredge spoils for beach replenishment. Work
will be performed at various locations between Astoria and
Portland, Ore., along the Columbia River (65 percent), Coos Bay,
Ore., (20 percent) and Canby, Wash., (15 percent), and is to be
completed by Oct. 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at
the end of the current fiscal year. There were 150 bids
solicited on Feb. 22, 2002 and three bids were received. The U.
S. Army Engineer District, Portland is the contracting activity
(DACW57-02-C-0017).
