Dresser-Rand To Supply Power Generation Equipment For BP

Dresser-Rand has received orders to supply power generation equipment to the BP Deep Water Development Program in the Gulf of Mexico. The equipment is being supplied by Dresser-Rand's Norwegian operations in Kongsberg and Drammen is comprised of Dresser-Rand DR61G turbo generator sets powered by GE LM2500 gas turbines, which drive Siemens electrical generators.

BP has placed security of supply orders at approximately $120 million for a total of 14 units. The initial production release is for three units scheduled for delivery mid-2002, with the balance of releases projected over the next two to three years. These orders have been placed under the Rotating Equipment Initiative (REI) agreement between BP and Dresser-Rand, which covers the global supply of centrifugal compressor packages and power generation equipment for upstream service.
