U.S Proposes New Emissions Control Area, PR & Virgin Islands

The United States has made a proposal to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to designate a new Emission Control Area for waters around the coasts of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  The IMO is slated to consider this proposal at the next meeting of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 61), in London this September.
