The Glosten Associates Appoint New Director of Engineering

The Glosten Associates has named John Edgar to serve as the firm’s Director of Engineering. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining the firm’s ‘best practices’ engineering processes. Edgar, a senior naval architect and firm principal, is a 1987 graduate of Webb Institute of Naval Architecture. He has 20 years of broad vessel design and project management experience, and recently served as Glosten’s Program Manager for Boeing’s Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) Platform project. Edgar specializes in the conceptual design of high-performance vessels. Tom Bringloe served in this capacity for over 25 years. Bringloe specializes in structural design and analysis and has been instrumental in developing the firm’s support to complex offshore operations. Bringloe will continue as a consultant to special projects and mentor to the firm’s younger engineers. Established leaders in naval architecture, marine and ocean engineering, Glosten engineers specialize in the design of research vessels, tugs and barges, passenger/car ferries, workboats and special-purpose platforms
