Draft Environmental Assessment on Disposal of Vessels

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) released a notice stating that the comment period on its draft environmental assessment for transfer of approximately nine obsolete vessels from the James River Reserve Fleet to the Able UK facilities for disposal has been extended until April 9, 2004. The Maritime Administration (MARAD), of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has made available for review and comment to interested governmental and private bodies and individuals the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the transfer of approximately nine obsolete vessels from the James River Reserve Fleet (JRRF) to the Able UK facilities for disposal of the vessels. The EA was the subject of a review period from February 29, 2004 to March 29, 2004. The comment period has been extended for one week extending the comment period to April 9, 2004.
