Taylor Made Environmental Receives Patent

June 10, 2002

Taylor Made Environmental has been awarded a second U.S. patent for its Chiller Compact air conditioning system. The new patent complements an earlier patent (#6,263,689), which was issued last year for the Chiller Compact unit. It covers the unique geometry of the chiller unit, which places the evaporator and condenser coils adjacent in parallel planes, thereby creating significant space savings for the overall package. The Chiller Compact system is designed for boats 45-75 ft. It consists of a small chiller unit, which is connected to air handlers throughout the boat with PVC water pipes. The refrigerant gas is contained in a sealed precharged loop inside the chiller unit, eliminating the need for field charging at installation. Available in 16,000, 20,000 and 24,000 BTU models, the Chiller Compact units can be staged to match the boat's precise capacity requirements and configuration. The compact base design and footprint provides for maximumflexibility in space, usage and layouts. The Chiller Compact systems are manufactured at Taylor Made's ISO9001 certified plant in Pompano Beach, Florida, and marketed under the Marine Air Systems brand name.
