Rosneft Recognized Leader In Contribution To Environmental Protection

Rosneft won international public award The Tree of Ecology in the category of ‘Company leader in contribution to environmental protection measures’ during the celebration of world environment day, the Ecologist Day, and a 10th anniversary of Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources in Grand Kremlin Palace.

The event organized by Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage and Environment Protection Fund ‘Nature’ brought together officials, members of Russian Academy of Sciences, leaders of environmental non-governmental organizations.

In the 2009-2014 timeframe, cumulative costs of Rosneft on environmental protection measures amounted to 125 billion rubles. In the 2014-2018 timeframe, the Company is planning to double expenses to 250 billion rubles (74 billion of which will be allocated for direct measures intended for nature protection purposes). Despite focused ecological program implemented by Rosneft, and liquidation program of accumulated natural environment damages, green projects will be sponsored under gas program and pipelines reliability improvement program.
