Navy to Prepare Environmental Statement

The US Navy plans to prepare an environmental impact statement to evaluate potential environmental consequences of homebasing the new P-8A multi-mission maritime aircraft to the east and west coasts of the United States. This aircraft is intended to replace the P-3C Orion airplane. Public scoping meetings will be held in Jacksonville (January 11); Honolulu (January 18); Coronado, CA (February 8); and Oak Harbor, WA (February 15). Written comments should be submitted by March 2, 2007.
