Singapore Establishes New Bunker Standards

Singapore’s bunkering industry will receive a boost with the implementation of a new national standard. As of June 1, 2007, all bunker suppliers in Singapore are required to be certified in accordance with the new Singapore Standard on Quality Management for Bunker Supply Chain (SS 524:2006), in order to renew their bunkering licenses. This was announced by Lim Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Finance and Transport at the opening of the 14th Singapore International Bunkering Conference (SIBCON 2006).
