Seattle-based Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) opened a subsidiary in Brazil to offer local support to operators and shipyards during the execution of newly developing projects. GPA recently received several contracts from various Brazilian operators for different types of offshore vessels destined to serve Petrobras’ oilfields.

Brazilian native José Lescaut Liguori was appointed General Manager of GPA do Brasil. “Local support is a valuable and necessary cornerstone to the foundation of our client’s technical and commercial success.  Offering this local support reinforces GPA’s approach of direct communication and close working relationships throughout the development and construction process,” said Liguori, who has over 30 years of experience in the maritime industry.  GPA has made substantial investments in Brazil over the past years in terms of exploring opportunities, forming and fostering relationships with operators and shipyards and developing diverse designs to enter Petrobras tenders. “We are excited about being a part of such significant projects and are looking forward to serving the Brazilian market,” Liguori added.
