Faststream Expands US Presence

November 24, 2008

Faststream’s US opened two new offices in Massachusetts and Houston in November.

Faststream Houston opened for business on Monday 10 November, headed up by Craig Johnson, with a focus on the oil and gas sector. The Houston region is home to over 3000 energy related establishments.

Faststream has also established a new office in Massachusetts which focuses on both the US power generation and maritime markets. Headed by former Massachusetts Maritime Academy Career Services Director Heather Twiss, this latest addition to the Faststream global network brings the total number of Faststream offices to seven.

Commenting on prospects for the Massachusetts office, Heather Twiss said:

“With projected increases in electricity demand, construction of new nuclear power plants, retrofits and 30% of the American nuclear workforce heading for retirement in the next 12 months, there are many opportunities for candidates in the US power sector. Continued losses of technical knowledge and specialized skill sets are making staffing increasingly challenging.”

Faststream is an international recruiter, founded in 1999, which specializes in the shipping, marine and offshore industries. Headquartered in Southampton (UK), the company also has offices in Oslo, Singapore, Fort Lauderdale, Houston and Massachusetts.
