Russian Vyborg to Build Fishing-Refrigerating Boats

As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmensitan.ru reports, the Vyborg Shipbuilding Yard of Russia has won an international tender to design and build six fishing-refrigerating vessels for the State Committee of Fishing Industry of Turkmenistan. Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov signed a relevant decree yesterday. The document, which was adopted with a view to fulfilling the task of increasing volumes of fishing in the Caspian Sea and taking steps to upgrade the fishing fleet of the country, approves a decision by the tender commission of the State Committee of Fishing Industry of Turkmenistan on announcing Vyborg Shipbuilding Yard of Russia the winner of the international tender on design and construction of fishing-refrigerating vessels. The above-mentioned committee was authorized to sign a contract for the design and construction of 6 fishing-refrigerating vessels totaling US $ 14,85 mln. Construction work should start in January 2006 and the boats should be delivered by April 2008.
