Vizada Updates FleetPhone Service Offerings

July 28, 2011

Satellite-based mobility company Vizada will provide the new Inmarsat FleetPhone maritime handset with email and data transfer capabilities to its extensive network of service provider partners. Vizada will add several Vizada SolutionsTM - including SkyFile® Mail, Universal CardTM and Satellite Direct® - to the existing package. Vizada’s FleetPhone is also packaged with a crew calling promotion.

Inmarsat’s new entry-level voice service will feature voice calls and voicemail in addition to text and email messaging capabilities. A supplemental voice line enables the captain to benefit from private communications while the crew maintains separate lines for personal or professional calling. The PBX integration allows for simple calling between the different phones located on the ship. Inmarsat is offering a choice of robust terminals and antennas to support the FleetPhone service.

The Vizada Solutions offered as part of the service have been upgraded for FleetPhone compatibility:
- Universal Card, Vizada’s crew calling card solution, can be used jointly with the handset and the Vizada call blocker to control prepaid calling for captain and crew.
- The SkyFile Mail messaging software was designed for email compression as well as anti-virus protection and spam filtering.
- With Satellite Direct, end users also benefit from cheap rates to call FleetPhone units from shore locations around the world.

Vizada has already received pre-orders from several service providers.
