Vericor Power Systems Signs Agreement With MTU Friedrichshafen

November 13, 2001

Vericor Power Systems announced it has signed an agreement with MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH (MTU), whereby MTU will package and distribute Vericor’s TF™40 and TF™50 aeroderivative marine gas turbines.

The Vericor/MTU-F distribution agreement will greatly supplement Vericor’s direct marketing activities for the TF series gas turbines to worldwide marine customers. The TF40 is rated at 4,000 shaft horsepower (shp)/2,983kilowatts (kW) and the TF50 provides 5,100 shp/3,803 kW. Both engines can be incorporated into a variety of flexible propulsion system arrangements. For example, the compact TF marine gas turbines can be used for stand alone power plants or combined with diesels to form COmbined Diesel And Gas turbine (CODAG), COmbined Diesel Or Gas turbine (CODOG) or COmbined Gas or Gas turbine configurations (COGAG).

Vericor holds a separate agreement with MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenberg (MTU-BB)Motoren- und Turbinen-Union Ludwigsfelde GmbH (MTU-L), whereby MTU-BBL provides total integrated repair and overhaul services for Vericor’s aeroderivative engines. Both MTU and MTU-BBL are companies in the DaimlerChrysler Group.
