Drew Marine Will Supply DPATM for Frontline

February 26, 2003

Drew Marine of Ashland Specialty Chemical will supply and install DPATM Diesel Performance Analyzers with their new Fuel Channel Option to Frontline Management AS of Oslo, Norway. Ashland Specialty Chemical Company is a division of Ashland Inc. The ships into which the DPA systems will be installed are managed by Thome Ship Management, Singapore; Wallem Shipmanagement Inc, Deerfield Beach, Florida; International Tanker Management, Dubai, UAE; V-Ships Norway A.S., Oslo, Norway; V-Ships UK Limited, Glasgow, Scotland; and V-Ships (Germany) GmbH, Hamburg, Germany. "Frontline outlined a number of key advantages of the DPA that swayed them to select our product from among competing systems," said Nels Hendrickson, Drew Marine vice president of marketing. "Aside from the better responsiveness, performance, ease-of-use, and speed, Frontline cited Drew Marine's working alliance with them as an important factor in the ultimate selection of our Diesel Performance Analyzer." Drew Marine's DPA Diesel Performance Analyzer is a combination of hardware and PC-based software that monitors 15 different diesel engine parameters, including cylinder compression pressure, 3600 times per engine revolution. The system's hand-held repeater allows engines to be tuned "in real-time," during measurement, while the PC component enables high-speed, high-volume data capture, graphical analysis, and performance history comparisons.
