NNS Gets $77M Navy Deal

Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va., is being awarded a $76,847,120 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for planning yard, design, configuration management and logistics support for SSN 688, SSN 21 and SSBN class operational submarines and design services for new construction SSN 21 class submarines. Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be completed by September 2002. Contract funds in the amount of $39,960,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
