September 8, 2005
The U.S. Coast Guard issued (via NGA) a Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) providing updated information on the conditions of waterways within the Captain of the Port Mobile Area of Responsibility. The following ports are open for vessels of the indicated draft or less: Panama City (34’); Pensacola (31’); Mobile (43’); Pascagoula (36’); Bayou Casotte (41’); and Gulfport (30’). Biloxi and Bayou La Batre remain closed. Mariners should exercise extreme caution as soundings have not been thoroughly completed and many aids to navigation are missing or are off station. (HK Law).
