Ocean Installer Awarded New Contract

Ocean Installer has been awarded a contract for SURF support work in Brazil for Saipem. The contract which will see the Normand Clipper in Brazil for 8 months is valued at circa USD 50 million, with options to extend.


Ocean Installer will support Saipem with their installation of multiple Steel Catenary Lazy Wave Risers, Free Standing Hybrid Risers and Export Pipelines for the Iracema and Pre-Salt projects in the Santos Basin Pre-Salt Area for Petrobras. The scope of work includes a wide range of services including survey, TDP monitoring, metrology, installation aid deployment / recovery and pre-commissioning.

Ocean Installer will make use of the efficient long-term chartered construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Clipper, which is well suited for both shallow and deep water operations. The vessel has a DP class 2 system, 250t crane capacity and 1700 m² deck.

The Normand Clipper will be mobilizing in October in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM) before transiting to Brazil to start the work.
