InterMoor UK Operations, part of Acteon’s foundations and moorings business, has operated for more than six years without a lost time incident (LTI). InterMoor UK Operations includes Acteon companies InterMoor Ltd, InterMoor Marine Services Ltd and ChainCo. According to InterMoor, this is a significant achievement in safety when considering the businesses have conducted more than 2,000 projects during this six year period from three bases, five storage yards and numerous quayside locations in the U.K. and internationally.

ChainCo, InterMoor UK Operations’ inspection arm, has handled more than two million chain links in the last 10 years. These chain link inspections equate to 200,000 per year, 16,666 per month and 550 every day. On average, InterMoor UK Operations’ mooring rental department moves approximately 3,000 tons of mooring equipment per month over the quayside.

InterMoor UK Operations has clear policies and legal and moral obligations that require it to implement and maintain an effective health, safety and environment management system. All staff members are held accountable for ensuring that health, safety and environmental regulations, policies and procedures are followed. As a result of InterMoor’s robust safety culture, this milestone was achieved with the participation of the entire workforce, from quayside support personnel to senior management.
