Barge Sinks in Intracoastal Waterway

A 264-ft. barge containing crushed limestone sits in the Intracoastal Waterway at mile marker 171, west of the Harvey Locks in Louisiana. The Coast Guard established a safety zone around the barge and will oversee offload and salvage operations. The barge is owned and operated by Lalande Towing Operators LLC, based in Iberia, La.
