Ocean Safety’s New SOLAS Premier Kru Falcon lifejacket: integrated survival and recovery.

The UK’s largest independent marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, has introduced the latest in its range of lifejackets, the Premier Kru Falcon.  The lifejacket is not only designed to support a person in the water but it boasts a number of ready fitted features that can aid recovery and survival.  These include the Kannad R10 AIS Survivor Recovery System, and the new powerful AQ98 lifejacket light which activates automatically in the water.

Both MED and SOLAS approved the Premier Kru has a buoyancy specification of 275N (rated) 350N (actual).

Developed in accordance with the latest SOLAS legislation, and type approved by Lloyds, the Premier Kru Falcon is designed to withstand the rigours of being constantly worn in the most demanding situations in the offshore and commercial maritime industries.  The highly buoyant Kru has two separate chambers, each inflated by a separate 60g cylinder, so it is doubly secure.  It features a crotch strap, and the fitting points to which the AQ98 light and the R10 are secured to.  It also has a spray hood, lifting beckets, retro tape, whistle and light, and a robust harness. The AQ98 is one of the smallest lifejacket lights available yet extremely powerful and durable.

The extra buoyancy rating featured by the Kru Falcon gives additional support to a person in heavy work wear or with heavy equipment strapped on, in an unexpected man overboard situation. It inflates extremely rapidly and has a self righting capability.  A fall arrest option is available.

The Premier Kru Falcon is just one of a wide range of SOLAS approved products supplied to the professional maritime market by Ocean Safety.
