Panama Canal – Request for Formal Accident Investigations

The Panama Canal Authority issued an Advisory reminding masters and owners and operators of vessels transiting the Canal of the procedure to be followed when requesting that a formal investigation be conducted by the Canal Authority Board of Inspectors with regard to a marine accident that has occurred within Panama Canal waters. Such requests must be made in writing and delivered to the Canal Port Captain’s office. Advisory No. A-01-2006
