October 21, 2004
AC Forwarding and Hudig Veder en Dammers will start their own shortsea service between Rotterdam and Ireland, called “AC Ireland Line”. The first sailing to Warrenpoint and Dublin is on November 12. The initiators emphasize the transport of reefer containers. To start with, the service runs weekly and with a chartered 390 TEU vessel. Full text in English: www.portofrotterdam.com. The AC Ireland Line is the second new initiative for the Irish market: earlier Teamlines announced the first service linking the Irish west coast, Foynes near Limerick, with Rotterdam.
