April 11, 2002

Marlink has developed a group of mobile communications packages derived from the Iridium satellite system - tailored to meet the needs of the maritime and related sectors - including Marlink's own e-mail product, @Sea(mail).

Marlink, which can supply a complete line of hardware for use in the marine sector, including hand-held and fixed units, offers a transparent charging structure for Iridium calls, with flat rates and no roaming charges.

With 10 key locations throughout the world, and a customer service network available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Marllink's e-mail service (via Iridium) is fully MAPI compliant and offers mobile Internet e-mail access at up to 10 kb/s, plus fax and telex capabilities, and full duplex transmission. The system, which available in both standalone and network versions, also has mailbag compression and integrated crash-recovery.
