Seven Seas Launched

Subsea 7’s newbuild deepwater Flexlay and J-lay vessel was launched at Merwede Schipyard on June 1. The Seven Seas will perform various offshore and subsea operations in addition to its main pipelay rols. The high specification pipelay spread is being designed and manufactured by Huisma-Itrec in Holland. There will be appointed facilities for up to 120 people. The vessel will be completed the following months at Merwede Shipyard in Holland. At the end of October the vessel will go to Huisman-Itrec to install the specific pipelay spread.
The Seven Seas is the second vessel for Subsea 7 built by Merwede Shipyard. The first vessel, the Seven Oceans, is at this moment at Huisman-Itrec and will be delivered in a few weeks. The Seven Oceans departs to the Gulf of Mexico for the first project.
